2010 Scholarship Recipients


The Baylor Black Alumni Club awarded three scholarships to outstanding students this year effective for the 2010-11 school year. The following recipients will be recognized during the 2012 Baylor Alumni Association Hall of Fame Banquet on January 27, 2012.


The scholarship committee awarded the $1,500 scholarship to Prince Adotama, a senior medical humanities major. He is from Houston, Texas. His campus involvements include a one year tenure as the president of the Baylor Chapter of NAACP.

Orhue Odara was award a $1,000 scholarship for the 2010-11 school year. She is a junior bio-chemistry major from the United Kingdom. Her on campus activities include tutoring at the Paul Foster Success Center, secretary of the Minority Pre-Health Association, and she volunteers with Hospice of Waco.

Vanessa Onguti, a junior International studies major from McKinney, Texas was awarded $500. She is a member of the African Student Association and the International Studies for minorities organization. She, along with the other recipients, will be recognized during the 12th Annual Dr. Vivienne Malone-Mayes Scholarship luncheon in April, 2011.
